Behind the scenes follows the basic idea of the Pittura metafisica, an Italian art movement of the beginning of the 20th century, which deals with the absence of things and their secret life.
Behind the Scenes is a game of hide-and-seek with the invisibility and simultaneous presence of figures that are either covered by surreal fabric-like formations, or behind whose silhouettes secret parallel worlds open up. Behind the Scenes plays with fashion and the question of identity, but goes beyond that: sometimes the more a person remains obscure, the stronger his or her aura. The series builds a bridge from past to present, between contemporary fashion photography and artistic painting, mixes shapes, silhouettes, textures, is playful and yet profound, and raises the question of whose story is hidden in each collage.
